According to OLED-info News, South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MTIE) announced that it will invest 38.7 billion won (about 193 million yuan) to set up awards to support South Korea's display industry and help it maintain its global competitiveness.

The main goal of this new award is to support the development of the OLED, Micro LED, AR and VR display industries in South Korea. The award is supported by small and medium-sized enterprises, large corporations, universities and research institutes. The government announced that 40 R&D projects were awarded, involving OLED technology, AR/VR technology, Micro display and Lightfield OLED display, and the specific R&D time of these projects is 1~4 years.
It is worth noting that recently, the Korea Industrial Technology Promotion Agency (KIAT) and the Korea Display Industry Association (KDIA) also plan to invest 18 billion won (about 90.54 million yuan) to promote the research and development of 17 inorganic light-emitting display technology development and ecosystem construction projects, which mainly involve the research and development of Micro LED technology and AR micro display application technology.
